You might think your bag will be off best in the box. Safe and sound. Well, we are sorry to inform you this is not the case. It is better to not store the bag in the box because that way the leather cannot breathe. What you can do is put it in a dust bag and tuck the chin in. You can put something inside the bag to keep the nice shape of the bag. However, make sure you do not overstuff the bag.

Now, let’s look at some important tips regarding the location of storing the bag. The best place to store is a room that is not too dry and not too humid. When there is a lot of humidity in the room, you can get mold on the bag, and let’s be honest: that’s not what your beautiful designer piece deserves.

Furthermore, it is important to not let direct sunlight shine on the bag. This will change the color and it will affect the leather.

What do I have to keep in mind when I use the bag?
If you really care a lot about your CHANEL bag and want to enjoy it as long as possible, there are a few things to keep in mind. Pay attention to the following things:

1. Make sure to wear the bag from time to time, instead of keeping it in the dust bag for a long time. This way you give the bag more air.
2. Wash your hands and make sure your nails are not very long when you are going to use your bag. It may sound extreme, but imagine this: you have just done your make-up and look fabulous to go out with your beautiful CHANEL. You take the bag and suddenly you see a make-up stain on the bag, as you recently did your make-up. Furthermore, long nails can damage the leather. Better safe than sorry.
3. Besides sharp, long nails, it is also recommended to not put any sharp objects inside the bag. The same applies to liquids that can leak.
4. It’s a sunny day! Or not? Check the weather before you go out. If it’s raining, it’s better to not use your beloved CHANEL. The raindrops can stay visible on the leather.
5. Avoid placing heavy objects in the bag. This is an important one! It will extend the lifetime of your CHANEL. We also recommend (in case you can) to switch between other bags. This way the bag can get some rest in between. For example when you use it on a daily basis.
6. Are you a travel lover? If you really care much about your CHANEL bag, do not bring it into security at the airport. They can handle it roughly or it can get dirty when it goes through the X-ray. 9. Check your bag each time you used it. This might be a lot of work, but it will be worth it! Why?
